We are not a hedge fund because 1) we do not have a hedge fund structure, 2) we do not charge performance fees, and 3) we serve investors of all types, not just accredited investors. We are not a mututal fund because you can invest with us directly, meaning we do not create a product through which investors need to invest with us via a third party such as broker-dealer.

We set up Pantile Investments this way so you get the best of both worlds: you get institutional-quality investment strategies, with the ease of access and client service one would expect from a modern investment advisor.

How exactly does it work to have an account at Pantile Investments?

Currently, we use third-party qualified custodians to hold our clients' assets and to clear our trades in our clients' accounts. We primarily use Charles Schwab and Interactive Brokers for our qualified custodians. This works great because you own the account, and Pantile Investments manages the account on your behalf. Since you are the account owner, you can see all of your account information, including balances, positions, and performance in real time, simply by logging into the custodian's website. Additionally, you can also withdraw funds from your account at any time, and can also deposit funds into your account at any time, pursuant to our Asset Management Agreement. Tax information is also made simple because, as the account owner, you receive all tax information directly from the custodian.

Each client also gets access to our investment platform, which provides a modern, easy-to-use interface for you to see your account information, including balances, positions, and performance. What asset classes do you invest in?

We manage a variety of investment strategies, each of which invest in different asset classes and have different risk and return trade-offs based on those asset classes. Currently, our strategies invest in equities (stocks) and equity options, with additional exposure to fixed income (bonds), equity indexes, currencies, and commodities via exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

We are in the process of bringing to market strategies that also trade futures (indexes, currencies, credit, and commodities) and crypto (underlying and futures).

What are the fees for working with Pantile Investments?

We charge a simple management fee for our strategies, ranging from 1% to 3% of assets under management (AUM) per year, depending on the strategy. Strategies that have higher return profiles are charged a higher fee (since more work goes into them), while strategies that have simpler return profiles are charged a lower fee.
